Everyone has seen images and videos of a perfectly wrapped gift with a pet inside, but PetSmart Charities of Canada warns that holidays are hectic and may not be the easiest time to transition a new pet into your family.  Instead, the organization suggests welcoming new pets into your home before the holiday rush and provides tips to get them settled.

“The holidays are a busy time of year with holiday shopping, cocktail parties and out-of-town guests in our homes,” says Carrie Trembinski of PetSmart Charities of Canada.  “You’ll want to spend time with your pet so it can get used to your smell, your voice, your faces and its new forever family.”

Trembinski speaks with PressReader Spotlight to provide tips for getting a new pet.  She shares must-have items to settle a new pet into your home.  Watch the interview and support the opinion on PressReader, if you agree.
