Discarded plastic is having a devastating effect on marine life warns Dr. Peter Ross of the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre. His research has shown the damage microplastics inflict on the marine ecosystem, and these plastics come from surprising sources. He cautions that everything that empties into your drain ultimately ends up in the ocean. If our use of plastics is goes unabated, ocean life and our food is at risk.
