Dylann Roof21 year-old Dylann Roof has been detained by law enforcement in North Carolina earlier today following the shooting deaths of nine in Charleston, South Carolina. Roof is alleged to have entered a historically black church and then opened fire on a bible study group on Wednesday. US Department of Justice officials have begun investigating the tragedy as a hate crime.

2016 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

Jeb Bush officially announced his candidacy to be the presidential candidate of the Republican Party in 2016 on Monday. Son of former president George H. W. Bush and younger brother of former president George W. Bush, Jeb Bush is the current front runner to be the Republican candidate for president.

CANADA
AnonymousInternet hacktivist group Anonymous claimed responsibility for a denial-of-service (DOS) attack on Government of Canada websites on Wednesday. Websites brought down include the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Public Works, and CSIS (the Canadian spy agency). The group claimed the cause of the attack was in protest over the recent passing of Bill C-51, legislation that redefines the term terrorism to be much broader and grants exceptional powers to law enforcement and intelligence organizations.
