Day 13 of the London 2012 Games

Day 13 of the Games saw Canada’s medal hopeful Carol Huynh capture a Bronze medal in the 48-kilograph women’s freestyle wrestling. Huynh, the 2008 Beijing Gold medalist, beat Isabelle Sambou of Senegal after winning tie-breaking clinches in both rounds.

Australia’s Sally Pearson had a record setting Gold medal victory in the 100m hurdles. Her time of 12.35 seconds gave her a narrow win, beating USA’s Dawn Harper’s time of 12.37 seconds. Pearson’s win is a rare one for Australia, as she is the first Australian hurdling champion in over 40 years. Kellie Wells of USA took home Bronze with a time of 12.48.

Events coming up today for Day 14 of the London 2012 Games include Women’s Wrestling, Women’s Soccer with the much anticipated USA vs. Japan match, and Men’s BMX.
